What To Do When You Get The Man Flu

Do You feel like a piano has fallen out of the sky and then a Mac truck has run over you…twice?

Are you a man?

You have the man flu.

I love men.  Totally and completely.

And when a man has the flu, he isn’t playing.  The world just came to a halt.  Luckily, women are here; not that you care as long as you have your bed.  But at least we are there to bring you tea, chicken noodle soup, and rub your achy back.

While some down time probably sounds great, the man flu is probably not your idea of fun.

Here is a quick remedy that works wonders.

At the first sign of the cold or flu, take 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar and 6 ounces of water.  Mix and drink it down like a really big shot.m-a-n-f-l-u-3-682x1024

Repeat every 6 hours until you are good as new.  It generally only takes 1-2 doses.

If you forget to take it at the beginning stages and you are in full blown sickness, you need a slightly different recipe:

Take 11 teaspoon baking soda, 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar and 6 ounces of water.  Mix and drink it down like a really big shot.  This one is going to be a little rough tasting but just get it down fast and chase it with some water.

Repeat every 6 hours until you are good as new.

That will take care of the man flu and you can save your down time for lying on a beach or resting in the mountains!

  1. Kelly- this is great. You know us men are babies. I didn’t even know there was a term for it. Funny because you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the recommendations in the article.

I’m going to focus on not getting sick this year. It’s all in the mindset, right?

  2. I will have to give this a try. We already do the apple cider vinegar. In fact the kids run when I say I will make you a vinegar drink..lol So they always try to stay on top of how they are feeling to avoid it. I’ll add the backing soda next time for sure.
