Detox Bath for the Cold and Flu

We often forget about the power of baths when we become sick.  Instead we look for the magic liquid or capsule that will have us back up on our feet feeling like new again.

Forgetting about the power of soaking in a tub is probably due to advertising.  Let’s face it, Theraflu and NyQuil dominate cold and flu season.  The bathtub manufactures need to do a better job of advertising because they are sitting on a goldmine when it comes to a cold and flu remedy.

To take part in this magic healing miracle you will need a few items:
  • ½ cup grated ginger
  • ¼ cup of mustard powder
  • 3 cups of Epsom salts
  • 1 box of baking soda.
You are going to fill the tub with as hot of water as you can stand (without burning yourself).  When the tub is filling, add in your ingredients and swirl a few times to mix.

Now, go get a couple fluffy towels, a wash rag, a warm robe and socks.    Ease into the tub and soak for 30 minutes.

You do not want to get your hair wet or wash your hair for this bath.  Have a dry wash rag ready because you are going to begin sweating.  You can also sip on fresh ginger root tea while soaking.

After your 30 minutes, dry off quickly and wrap your body in your robe, wrap your hair in a towel, and put on your socks.  You immediately want to go and lie down for 30 minutes to an hour.  You may continue to sweat which is perfect.  Upon arising, drink a glass of water and repeat your detox bath the next day if necessary.

I also recommend taking 50 mg of Zinc Gluconate and 2,000 mg of Vitamin C every 4 hours.

You will be amazed at how much better you feel after your detox bath!
