How badly do you want to move from victim to victor…right now?
We all have this negative tape that plays and replays in our brain when we are frustrated.
If you are like me, you probably have said variations of my list below to yourself:
- Why is life so hard?
- Why is nothing working out like I want?
- I am so dumb.
- It’s not my fault. So whom can I blame (usually the most difficult person in the situation)? The looking to blame is a subconscious reaction and not a verbal question.
These negative phrases are from our “normal” childhood programing that we have built brain synapses and neuro pathways for. The brain seeks answers without discernment. I learned these are not useful for many reasons.
Negative Self Talk Is Not Innocent
Negative self talk is self programming. Anyone in the success arena already knows this but digging deeper into the subconscious, I found something even more insidious lurking within the brain’s of man.
While my brain was focusing on answers, it caused me to focus on factors that may or may not have been true. Remember, the brain is seeking answers. In this search, you are let off the hook because it helps you to avoid taking responsibility for your life, which makes you feel further confused and helpless. Even if you don’t realize it at the time, you will realize it down the road soon enough.
Honey, What’s Wrong?
It is like this… women are notorious for asking men what is wrong and men are notorious for not even knowing something is going on. Many women are intuitive and pick up on subtle changes in a man’s demeanor.
The second a woman asks this, the male brain goes to find something wrong to give an answer. Then out comes the excuse “I had a bad day with a client or I didn’t get the work done I thought I would have.” The brain has found an answer and the man was let off the hook for taking responsibility.
The ONE Question You Need To Ask Yourself
I slowly became very adept at stopping the negative programming with 1 single question that I believe is the most important question that either makes or breaks success.
“What is the one thing I can do right now to improve this situation or at least how I am feeling about the situation?”
No matter how small the one thing is, it will quickly move you from victim to victor and allows you to take productive action.
You ask a question and your brain will supply the answer and the responsibility is now in your hands. Take it. Run with it and make every day more successful and fulfilling than the last.
Questions have the power to transform your life into something you want or something you don’t want. If you ask the ONE right question, you will be on the road to success!
Next time you face a frustrating situation, just ask yourself, “What is the one thing I can do right now to improve my situation?”

I know that mindset seems so simple or unimportant but I can tell you, hands down, this is the ONE thing that gives you the life you want.
Are you ready to get your mind working for you instead against you?
